And I really liked the golden gate bridge and this awesome downtown and the piers. But i was a little bit scared of all the drugpeople laying there on the streets.<br />
In a few years I want to travel again to that awesome city!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
McKenzie grew up in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Carolina" title="North Carolina">North Carolina</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia" title="Virginia">Virginia</a>, where he became friends with the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Son" title="Son">son</a> of one of his <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother" title="Mother">mother</a>'s friends, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Phillips_%28musician%29" title="John Phillips (musician)">John Phillips</a>. In the mid 1950s, he sang briefly with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Rose" title="Tim Rose">Tim Rose</a> in a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_school" title="High school">high school</a> group called The Singing Strings, and later with Phillips, Mike Boran and Bill Cleary formed a <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doo_wop" title="Doo wop">doo wop</a> <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Band_%28music%29" title="Band (music)">band</a>, The Abstracts. In <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City" title="New York City">New York</a>, The Abstracts became The Smoothies and recorded two <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_%28music%29" title="Single (music)">singles</a> with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decca_Records" title="Decca Records">Decca Records</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Record_producer" title="Record producer">produced</a> by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milt_Gabler" title="Milt Gabler">Milt Gabler</a>. In 1961 Phillips and McKenzie met Dick Weissman and formed The Journeymen, which recorded three <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Album" title="Album">albums</a> for <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitol_Records" title="Capitol Records">Capitol Records</a>. They disbanded The Journeymen in 1964, as McKenzie wanted to perform on his own. So Phillips formed the group <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mamas_%26_the_Papas" title="The Mamas & the Papas">The Mamas & the Papas</a> with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denny_Doherty" title="Denny Doherty">Denny Doherty</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cass_Elliot" title="Cass Elliot">Cass Elliot</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Phillips" title="Michelle Phillips">Michelle Phillips</a>, his second wife. The group soon moved to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California" title="California">California</a>. Two years later, McKenzie followed from New York and signed with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lou_Adler" title="Lou Adler">Lou Adler</a>'s Ode Records.<br />
Phillips <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Songwriter" title="Songwriter">wrote</a> and produced <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_%28Be_Sure_to_Wear_Flowers_in_Your_Hair%29" title="San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)">"San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair)"</a>, which was released in 1967, for McKenzie. John Phillips played <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guitar" title="Guitar">guitar</a> on the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_recording_and_reproduction" title="Sound recording and reproduction">recording</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Session_musician" title="Session musician">session musician</a> Gary L Coleman played <a class="new" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Orchestra_bells_and_chimes&action=edit&redlink=1" title="Orchestra bells and chimes (page does not exist)">orchestra bells and chimes</a>. Hal Blaine played drums. It became a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_40" title="Top 40">Top 10</a> hit in the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States" title="United States">United States</a> and a <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chart-topper" title="Chart-topper">number one</a> in the UK and several other countries. McKenzie followed the song with "Like An Old Time Movie", also written and produced by Phillips, which was a minor hit. His first album, <i>The Voice of Scott McKenzie</i> was followed with an album called <i>Stained Glass Morning</i>. He stopped recording in the early 1970s and lived in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joshua_Tree,_California" title="Joshua Tree, California">Joshua Tree</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California" title="California">California</a>, and <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_Beach" title="Virginia Beach">Virginia Beach</a>.<br />
In 1986, he started singing with a new version of The Mamas and the Papas. With <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Melcher" title="Terry Melcher">Terry Melcher</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Love" title="Mike Love">Mike Love</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Phillips" title="John Phillips">John Phillips</a>, he co-wrote the number 1 single for the <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beach_Boys" title="Beach Boys">Beach Boys</a>, "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kokomo_%28song%29" title="Kokomo (song)">Kokomo</a>" (1988).<br />
By 1998, he had retired from the road version of The Mamas and Papas, and currently resides in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Angeles" title="Los Angeles">Los Angeles</a>, California. He appeared at the Los Angeles tribute concert for John Phillips in 2001, amongst other 1960s contemporary acts.<br />

<b>John Lee Hooker</b> (August 22, 1917 – June 21, 2001) was an American <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues" title="Blues">blues</a> singer-songwriter and guitarist, born near <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clarksdale,_Mississippi" title="Clarksdale, Mississippi">Clarksdale, Mississippi</a>. Hooker began his life as the son of a <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharecropper" title="Sharecropper">sharecropper</a>, William Hooker, and rose to prominence performing his own unique style of what was originally closest to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_blues" title="Delta blues">Delta blues</a>. He developed a '<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talking_blues" title="Talking blues">talking blues</a>' style that was his trademark. Though similar to the early Delta blues, his music was metrically free. John Lee Hooker could be said to embody his own unique genre of the blues, often incorporating the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boogie-woogie" title="Boogie-woogie">boogie-woogie</a> piano style and a driving rhythm into his masterful and idiosyncratic blues guitar and singing. His best known songs include "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boogie_Chillen%27" title="Boogie Chillen'">Boogie Chillen'</a>" (1948), "I'm in the Mood" (1951) and "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boom_Boom_%28John_Lee_Hooker_song%29" title="Boom Boom (John Lee Hooker song)">Boom Boom</a>" (1962), the first two reaching R&B #1 in the <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_%28magazine%29" title="Billboard (magazine)">Billboard</a></i> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_number-one_rhythm_and_blues_hits_%28United_States%29" title="List of number-one rhythm and blues hits (United States)">charts</a>.<br />
Hooker's life experiences were chronicled by several scholars and often read like a classic case study in the racism of the music industry, although he eventually rose to prominence with memorable songs and influence on a generation of musicians.<br />

The group was initially composed of brothers <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Wilson" title="Brian Wilson">Brian</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Wilson" title="Dennis Wilson">Dennis</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Wilson" title="Carl Wilson">Carl Wilson</a>, their cousin <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Love" title="Mike Love">Mike Love</a>, and friend <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Jardine" title="Al Jardine">Al Jardine</a>. Managed by the Wilsons' father <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murry_Wilson" title="Murry Wilson">Murry</a>, The Beach Boys signed to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitol_Records" title="Capitol Records">Capitol Records</a> in 1962. The band's early music gained popularity across the United States for its <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Close_harmony" title="Close harmony">close vocal harmonies</a> and lyrics reflecting a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_California" title="Southern California">Southern California</a> youth culture of surfing, cars, and romance. By the mid 1960s, Brian Wilson's growing creative ambition and songwriting ability would dominate the group's musical direction. The primarily Wilson-composed <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pet_Sounds" title="Pet Sounds">Pet Sounds</a></i> album and "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Vibrations" title="Good Vibrations">Good Vibrations</a>" single (both released in 1966) featured a complex, intricate and multi-layered sound that was a far cry from the simple <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surf_rock" title="Surf rock">surf rock</a> of The Beach Boys' early years.<br />
However, Wilson would soon lose control of the band because of mental-health and substance-abuse issues. Subsequently, although it released a number of popular albums (in various musical styles, with different line-ups) in ensuing years, the group never managed to reclaim its mid-'60s peak when The Beach Boys briefly challenged <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles" title="The Beatles">The Beatles</a> both in terms of commercial and critical appeal. Since the 1980s, there has been much legal-wrangling among the group members over royalties, songwriting credits, and use of the band's name. While The Beach Boys released their last studio album in 1996, a number of versions of the band, each fronted by a surviving member of the original quintet (Dennis and Carl Wilson died in 1983 and 1998, respectively), continue to tour.<br />
The Beach Boys have often been called "America's Band",<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beach_Boys#cite_note-0"><span>[</span>1<span>]</span></a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allmusic" title="Allmusic">Allmusic</a> has stated that "the band's unerring ability... made them America's first, best rock band."<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beach_Boys#cite_note-allmusic-1"><span>[</span>2<span>]</span></a> The group has had 36 United States <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_40" title="Top 40">Top 40</a> hits (the most by an American rock band) and 56 <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_Hot_100" title="Billboard Hot 100">Hot 100</a> hits, including four number-one singles.<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beach_Boys#cite_note-allmusic-1"><span>[</span>2<span>]</span></a> <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_Stone" title="Rolling Stone">Rolling Stone</a></i> magazine listed The Beach Boys at number 12 on their 2004 list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time".<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beach_Boys#cite_note-2"><span>[</span>3<span>]</span></a> The core quintet of the three Wilsons, Love and Jardine was inducted into the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_and_Roll_Hall_of_Fame" title="Rock and Roll Hall of Fame">Rock and Roll Hall of Fame</a> in 1988.<br />

Although they are regularly associated with the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_rock" title="Soft rock">soft rock</a> genre, Toto's broad array of musical styles helps them appeal to a variety of listeners.<br />
David Paich and Jeff Porcaro had played together as <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Session_musician" title="Session musician">session musicians</a> and decided to form a band. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hungate" title="David Hungate">David Hungate</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Porcaro" title="Jeff Porcaro">Jeff Porcaro</a>, Steve Lukather and Steve Porcaro were recruited before their first album release. The band enjoyed great commercial success in the late 1970s and 1980s, beginning with the band's <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toto_%28album%29" title="Toto (album)">self-titled debut</a> released in 1978. With the release of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toto_IV" title="Toto IV">Toto IV</a></i> (1982), Toto became one of the best-selling music groups of their era. They are best known for the Top 5 hits "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hold_the_Line" title="Hold the Line">Hold the Line</a>," "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosanna_%28song%29" title="Rosanna (song)">Rosanna</a>," and "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Africa_%28Toto_song%29" title="Africa (Toto song)">Africa</a>". Although their popularity in the United States diminished in the 1990s and 2000s, they remained popular internationally, playing only a small number of shows in the USA. Several changes to the lineup have been made over the years. In 2008, Lukather announced his departure from the band, and the remaining band members later went their separate ways. In the summer of 2010, Toto went on a short European tour, with a new lineup, to benefit Mike Porcaro, who had been diagnosed with <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amyotrophic_lateral_sclerosis" title="Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis">amyotrophic lateral sclerosis</a> (ALS). Another tour will take place in Summer 2011.<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toto_%28band%29#cite_note-0">[1]</a><br />
The band has released a total of 17 albums, and have sold over 35 million albums to date. The group was honored with several <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy_Awards" title="Grammy Awards">Grammy Awards</a> and was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2009.<br />

Pink Floyd are one of the most <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best_selling_music_artists" title="List of best selling music artists">commercially successful</a> and influential rock music groups of all time. They have sold over 200 million albums worldwide, including 74.5 million certified units in the United States. The band was inducted into the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_and_Roll_Hall_of_Fame" title="Rock and Roll Hall of Fame">Rock and Roll Hall of Fame</a> in 1996.<br />
The band originally consisted of university students <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Waters" title="Roger Waters">Roger Waters</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Mason" title="Nick Mason">Nick Mason</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Wright_%28musician%29" title="Richard Wright (musician)">Richard Wright</a>, and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syd_Barrett" title="Syd Barrett">Syd Barrett</a>. Founded in 1965, they first became popular playing in London's underground music scene in the late 1960s. Under Barrett's leadership they released two charting singles, "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnold_Layne" title="Arnold Layne">Arnold Layne</a>" and "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/See_Emily_Play" title="See Emily Play">See Emily Play</a>", and a successful début album, <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Piper_at_the_Gates_of_Dawn" title="The Piper at the Gates of Dawn">The Piper at the Gates of Dawn</a></i> (1967). Guitarist and vocalist <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Gilmour" title="David Gilmour">David Gilmour</a> joined Pink Floyd in 1968, several months prior to Barrett's departure from the group due to the latter's deteriorating mental health. Following the loss of their principal songwriter, Pink Floyd bassist and vocalist Roger Waters became the band's lyricist and conceptual leader, with Gilmour assuming lead guitar and sharing lead vocals. With this lineup Pink Floyd achieved worldwide critical and commercial success with <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Side_of_the_Moon" title="The Dark Side of the Moon">The Dark Side of the Moon</a></i>, <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wish_You_Were_Here_%28Pink_Floyd_album%29" title="Wish You Were Here (Pink Floyd album)">Wish You Were Here</a></i>, <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animals_%28album%29" title="Animals (album)">Animals</a></i> and <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wall" title="The Wall">The Wall</a></i>.<br />
Wright left the group in 1979, and Waters in 1985, but Gilmour and Mason (subsequently joined by Wright) continued to record and tour. Waters resorted to legal means to try to keep them from performing as Pink Floyd, but the dispute was resolved with an out-of-court settlement which allowed Gilmour and Mason to continue, and which also released Waters from his contractual obligations to the band. Two further albums, <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Momentary_Lapse_of_Reason" title="A Momentary Lapse of Reason">A Momentary Lapse of Reason</a></i> and <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Division_Bell" title="The Division Bell">The Division Bell</a></i> followed. Following almost two decades of acrimony, the band reunited in 2005 for a single performance, at the charity concert <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_8" title="Live 8">Live 8</a>.Youtuberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11881007927048158399noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2853254321967296950.post-42070860108554768742011-05-01T23:57:00.000-07:002011-05-01T23:57:03.140-07:00The Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take Five<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><object width="320" height="266" class="BLOGGER-youtube-video" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" data-thumbnail-src="http://2.gvt0.com/vi/BwNrmYRiX_o/0.jpg"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BwNrmYRiX_o&fs=1&source=uds" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><embed width="320" height="266" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BwNrmYRiX_o&fs=1&source=uds" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object></div><b>The Dave Brubeck Quartet</b> is an <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States" title="United States">American</a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz">jazz</a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quartet">quartet</a>, founded in 1951 by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Brubeck">Dave Brubeck</a> and originally featuring <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Desmond">Paul Desmond</a> on saxophone and Brubeck on piano.<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dave_Brubeck_Quartet#cite_note-pd-0"><span>[</span>1<span>]</span></a> They took up a long residency at <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco">San Francisco</a>'s <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Hawk_%28nightclub%29" title="Black Hawk (nightclub)">Blackhawk nightclub</a> and gained great popularity touring college campuses, releasing a series of albums with such titles as <i>Jazz at Oberlin</i>, <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz_Goes_to_College">Jazz Goes to College</a></i>, and <i>Jazz Goes to Junior College</i>.<br />
By 1958, after a handful of different drummers and bassists, the "Classic Quartet" — so-called because it remained as such virtually consistently until the group dissolved — had been assembled, consisting of Brubeck, Desmond, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Morello">Joe Morello</a> on drums, and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_Wright">Eugene Wright</a> on bass.<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dave_Brubeck_Quartet#cite_note-pd-0"><span>[</span>1<span>]</span></a> In 1959, the Dave Brubeck Quartet released <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Out_%28album%29" title="Time Out (album)">Time Out</a></i>, an album their label was enthusiastic about but nonetheless hesitant to release. The album contained all original compositions, almost none of which were in <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_time" title="Common time">common time</a>. Nonetheless, on the strength of these unusual time signatures (the album included "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Take_Five">Take Five</a>", "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Rondo_%C3%A0_la_Turk">Blue Rondo à la Turk</a>", and "Pick Up Sticks"), it quickly went <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platinum_album" title="Platinum album">platinum</a>. The quartet followed up its success with several more albums in the same vein, including <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Further_Out">Time Further Out</a></i> (1961), <i>Countdown: Time in Outer Space</i>, <i>Time Changes</i>, and <i>Time In</i>. These albums were also known for using contemporary paintings as cover art, featuring the work of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._Neil_Fujita">S. A high point for the group was their classic 1963 live album <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At_Carnegie_Hall">At Carnegie Hall</a></i>, described by critic <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Palmer_%28entrepreneur%29" title="Richard Palmer (entrepreneur)">Richard Palmer</a> as "arguably Dave Brubeck's greatest concert".<br />

The trio started producing tracks together under the name Wamdue Kids, releasing <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_music">house music</a> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_play" title="Extended play">EPs</a> on Detroit label <a class="new" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Acacia_Records&action=edit&redlink=1" title="Acacia Records (page does not exist)">Acacia Records</a>. The trio remained together until 2000, releasing tracks under the names Wam Kidz and Wambonix. Since then, Brann has worked alone as a producer, employing vocalists and instrumentalists according to his needs. Vocalists <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaelle_Addison" title="Gaelle Addison">Gaelle Addison</a> and <a class="new" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Terrance_Downs&action=edit&redlink=1" title="Terrance Downs (page does not exist)">Terrance Downs</a>, in particular, have been regular contributors to many of Brann's tracks.<br />
While still affiliated with Clarke and Udoh, Brann started producing tracks on his own, using a variety of names, the most prolific of which are Wamdue Project, Ananda Project and P'Taah. Brann has mentioned he finds house music too easy to create,<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wamdue_Project#cite_note-0"><span>[</span>1<span>]</span></a> and has experimented creating music with influences from many subgenres of electronic music, such as <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_house">deep house</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downtempo">downtempo</a>, <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Techno_music" title="Techno music">techno</a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drum_and_bass">drum and bass</a>.<br />
Chris Brann is better known for the hit "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_of_My_Castle">King of My Castle</a>", released in 1997 under the name Wamdue Project. Originally produced by Brann as a downtempo piece, it achieved worldwide fame thanks to a remix by <a class="new" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Roy_Malone&action=edit&redlink=1" title="Roy Malone (page does not exist)">Roy Malone</a> in house form. "King of My Castle" sold two million copies worldwide and is reportedly the best-selling single ever for the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strictly_Rhythm">Strictly Rhythm</a> label,<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wamdue_Project#cite_note-1"><span>[</span>2<span>]</span></a> as well as becoming a #1 in the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UK_Singles_Chart">UK Singles Chart</a> and a #3 in Germany in 1999. A follow-up Wamdue Project single, "Where Do We Go", hit #9 on the <a class="mw-redirect" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_Dance_Music/Club_Play" title="Hot Dance Music/Club Play">Hot Dance Music/Club Play</a> chart in 1998. One more single ("You're The Reason") achieved success in Germany and the UK, in lower chart regions (#55) and (#39). A 2000 re-release of "King of My Castle", with new remixes, hit #1 the following year.<br />
Wamdue Project famously appeared on the initial nominations list for 'Best British Newcomer' <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wamdue_Project#cite_note-2"><span>[</span>3<span>]</span></a> at the 2000 Brit Awards, before embarrassed organisers were forced to withdraw the nomination on account of the fact that Brann is American.Youtuberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11881007927048158399noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2853254321967296950.post-26839387103025665192011-05-01T07:25:00.000-07:002011-05-01T07:25:52.554-07:00Drowning Pool - Bodies (Let The Bodies Hit The Floor)<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />

The only other chord is a Dadd6add9, fretted on the low E and G strings, second fret. A 12 string plays an added F# (second fret, high E string) on the back beat of the Em. A noted feature of the song is the driving bass line with a hammer-hook in each chorus. A "waterfall" type solo completes the arrangement. Produced by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Samwell">Ian Samwell</a> on the day of final recording at Morgan Studios, at first the group thought it too corny and took some convincing to actually play it. Gerry Beckley has explained in <i><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acoustic_Guitar_%28magazine%29" title="Acoustic Guitar (magazine)">Acoustic Guitar</a></i> magazine (March 2007) that the correct tuning for the guitar is D E D G B D, low to high. The chord pattern that repeats throughout the entire song is: 202002 (Em),then 020202 and 000202. The tuning is unique to this song; they did not use it on any other America song.Youtuberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11881007927048158399noreply@blogger.com11
